Who has the autumn blues? Who lacks bright colors and a piece of summer? Then let&#8217;s remember the citrus festival, which literally recently sparkled with all the sunny shades in Mersin, in Turkey.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-d5b69e4.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This year, the fifth event took place on November 15-16.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-d6e2e0f.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A small clarification: do not confuse the event in Mersin with a similar festival in Menton (Menton Lemon Festival), which is in France.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-92c3729.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The only difference is that the event on the Riviera has already been held more than eighty times and &#8220;starring&#8221; exclusively lemon.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-a3bc555.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And in Turkey\u2013 it is a relatively young event and everything is in use: oranges, lemons, grapefruits and other exotic fruits that can be classified as citrus.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-c431d60.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On average, at least 100 tons of &#8220;consumables&#8221; are used annually to create sculptures, costumes and other installations.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-279e146.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I have no doubt that the French holiday can be more grandiose, famous, original, colorful, enchanting and so on.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-e89a668.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>in the photo, the Lemon Festival in France<\/p>\n<p>After all, the lemon festival is older, which means it attracts more attention.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-0a7c232.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But I decided to dedicate this review specifically to the Turkish event.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-d95ae51.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What surprises me most is not the installations themselves, but the method of their manufacture.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-7b6334a.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I admire these wonderful turtles, elephants, houses, giraffes, pyramids, cars and other luxurious works and am perplexed: How do these hundreds and thousands of citrus balls hold together!?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-9ef38d0.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>How were they fastened, sewn, glued, screwed?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/citrus-festival-in-mersin-there-are-more-oranges-than-people-e7134ac.jpg\" alt=\"Citrus Festival in Mersin &ndash; there are more oranges than people\" \/><\/p>\n<p>And I can&#8217;t find the answer to my question.
