Erdemli is a coastal area located 30 kilometers from the center of Mersin. It is difficult to call it a beach resort, because the local beaches, and there are few of them here, are not clean and beautiful.
Erdemli Embankment
There are numerous high-rise buildings along the coast. In general, this area is very densely populated and the Antalya-Mersin highway passes through it, there are constant traffic jams. It is often called the remote neighborhood of Mersin.

There are five main beaches in the city and several other small sandy areas located along a pretty equipped promenade.

Briefly about all the Erdemli: just beaches, gray sand, stones and small pebbles, no sun beds and umbrellas. The beaches are mostly unclean. There is a strong smell of sewage on some sections of the embankment. But mostly everything is well-groomed, paths made of tiles and artificial turf, greenery, palm trees, many cafes, playgrounds and exercise equipment.

For swimming, we recommend looking for other beaches — for example, go to Sultankoy (18 km) or Kızkalesi (25 km). You can get there by bus or minibus, both from Mersin and Erdemli.
