The Shah Cherah Mausoleum is the burial place of the brothers Ahmed and Mohamed, sons of Musa al-Kadhim. Previously, the tomb was no different from many others, but in the 14th century, Queen Tashi Khatun decided to make this place special and ordered it to be decorated with thousands of mirror fragments.

In Persian, “Shah Cherah” translates as “prince of light”. Externally, the mausoleum is practically no different from the others, but once you go inside, it’s like you get into another world – the world of light and mirrors.

The building has two minarets, and in the center stands a large “Shiraz” dome. In the main hall of the mausoleum there is the sarcophagus of Syed Mir Ahmed, to which two queues are constantly drawn – male and female. These are pilgrims who come here from all over the country to ask the saint for something. In another part of the tomb there is a smaller sarcophagus – in it rests the younger brother of Syed Mir Ahmed – Mir Mohammed.
